Car and Van rental in Aachen
Aachen is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany, situated close to the intersection between Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, known as the "Border Triangle". Consequently, Aachen is a major gateway to western Germany. The city is famous as an industrial centre, as the final resting place of Charlemagne, founder of the Holy Roman Empire, and for its thermal mineral springs, which produce the hottest running water in central Europe. Overall, Aachen is a lively, cosmopolitan city, with a colourful mixture of languages and people. The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch in Aachen is less than two-and-a-half miles, or 13 minutes' drive, from the city centre via Jülicher Straße, while the Enterprise branch in Aachen Fleischhauer on Europaplatz is a similar distance away.

Places to Visit Outside Aachen
Aachen enjoys a prestigious location, within short driving distances of major European cities, such as Amsterdam, Brussels and Cologne, and an excellent infrastructure, with connections to the A4, A44 and A544 federal highways. One of the oldest towns in the Netherlands, Maastricht, is just 30 minutes' drive away from Aachen, while Liège, in eastern Belgium, is only 60 minutes' drive away. Other popular excursions include Stolberg, just over three miles east of Aachen on the edge of the Eifel region. Stolberg is famous for its restored medieval castle, its old town and its copper yards, or "Kupferhöfe". Beyond Stolberg, the Eifel region is an attractive, densely wooded area of highlands with many historical and natural attractions.
Parking and Traffic Information in Aachen
Parking in Aachen is readily available, with many municipal car parks in and around the city centre offering thousands of car parking spaces in total. Park and ride car parks on the outskirts of the city offer another alternative, while on-street parking is a possibility in certain areas, although spaces are limited and obviously available on a first come, first served basis. Aachen is a major conurbation with a population of around 250,000, so congestion on the roads can be problematic during the rush hour. Remember to add a little extra time to your journey if you're travelling at peak times. Bear in mind, too, that the streets of the historic old town are narrow and, in common with many German cities, driving in Aachen requires a special sticker to enter the environmental or green zone.
